Wildfire: The latest on the Santiago fire

Irvine Valley College, Saddleback College and ATEP evening classes have been canceled. The administrative offices at all three campuses are open today, and classes are scheduled to resume tomorrow. Santiago Canyon College, near the fire area, is open.

Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona on rumors that a search warrant had been served on a possible arson suspect in the Santiago fire: "We're working with the FBI and the Orange County Fire Authority, but nobody has confirmed to me that a search warrant has been served."

A story today by the Associated Press reporting that the O.C. Sheriff and the FBI joined forces to search a home as part of an arson investigation of the Santiago fire has been denied by sheriff's officials and FBI agents.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger toured the El Toro High School evacuation center in Lake Forest this afternoon and defended the state's response to Orange County's fires. State Fire Marshal Director Rueben Grijalva said the state couldn't get firefighting airplanes into the air Sunday or Monday because of safety issues.
