Mondale rips Cheney for giving bad advice to
Bush
After 9/11, Vice
President Richard Cheney seized the
initiative. He pushed to expand
executive power, transform America's
intelligence agencies and bring the war
on terror to Iraq. But first he had to
take on George Tenet's CIA for control
over intelligence.

Source: Scandal could take in at
least a dozen in Congress
By Silla Brush | US News & World Report
It's been two years now since federal
investigators began trying to untangle
the dealings of Washington uberlobbyist
Jack Abramoff. But what was once a
potential scandal looming over the
horizon is now looking more ominous by
the day.
Last week's guilty plea by Abramoff's
onetime partner, a former top aide to
the beleaguered Rep. Tom DeLay, darkened
the skies further. Michael Scanlon's
admission he had conspired to bribe
public officials and defrauded four
Indian gaming casinos of millions in
fees effectively makes him the
government's star witness in a probe
that threatens to ensnare officials
throughout the nation's capital.
U.S. News has learned that the conduct
of at least a dozen representatives and
senators is now being scrutinized by a
small army of federal prosecutors and
FBI agents.
Moyers
Has His Say
Former Now host on media bias and
his feud with former CPB Chairman Ken
Tomlinson who is now found to have
violated the law by dealing directly
with a programmer during the creation of
a show to balance Moyers' program.
By John Eggerton -- Broadcasting &
Cable, 11/28/2005
"Right-wing partisans like Tomlinson
have always attacked aggressive
reporting as liberal."
"We were biased, all right—in favor of
uncovering the news that powerful people
wanted to keep hidden: conflicts of
interest at the Department of Interior,
secret meetings between Vice President
Cheney and the oil industry, backdoor
shenanigans by lobbyists at the FCC,
corruption in Congress, neglect of
wounded veterans returning from Iraq,
Pentagon cost overruns, the manipulation
of intelligence leading to the invasion
of Iraq."
