Michael Blankenhorn a bouncer at the California Girls Strip Club was fatally s
hot Monday by one of three patrons who were tossed out of the club,
authorities said.
According to eye witnesses Michael Blankenhorn, 26, of Anaheim had told the
three patrons that they had to leave the Harbor Boulevard strip club about
6:45 p.m., after a stripper (stage name Orion) complained to the bouncer that
she was being fondled against her will. A bloody fight ensued outside the club
involving the three patrons and several bouncers, doormen and club manager
Jeff Underwood.
After at least one of the three patrons was beaten severely and all were pepper
sprayed by the club employees, one of the men with facial hair went to a white
utility truck in the parking lot and withdrew a small caliber revolver.
Germaine Quincy Black a bouncer at the club shouted "he has a gun."
Blankenhorn was shot and the shooter fled, said Dan McDermott, a Santa Ana
police commander.
Immediately after Mr. Blankenhorn was shot he stumbled back into the bar
and collapsed on the floor where a dancer stage name Dallas of Costa Mesa started CPR until the paramedic's arrived and rushed him to the
hospital where he succumbed to his wound.
The shooter has not been identified or arrested, McDermott said.
