Gilchrist agrees, in a notice posted on his web site he says "The Minuteman Project is a separate and distinct organization and is not part of the MCDC organization.  The Minuteman Project is not in the fence-building business and does not have a fence-building program.

Due to the confusion by some of our supporters and critics about who is building a fence on private property along the Mexico border, I thought it important to post this notice.

CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 program recently broadcast a story challenging Chris Simcox and the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC) about the fund raising for a border fence that the MCDC organization was to build on private ranch property along the Arizona Mexico border."

Gilchrist goes on to say, "We have long struggled together to encourage those in power in the Federal government to follow the rule of law and secure our borders and enforce U.S. immigration laws. We have had great success in bringing this issue directly to the American public in the absence of leadership by our political governors in Washington, DC.

Now, as the Presidential Election of 2008 draws near we have a unique opportunity to raise our collective voices at those candidates who wish to lead America for the next four years.
