Hi
De Ho Comics, which has been expanding since
1974 since arriving in Santa Monica,
California, is opening a second store in
Laguna Beach on August 22nd.
The event will be launched with
a festive reception featuring comic book
concept of Honey West, the first female
fictional character introduced as a novel
series, circa 1957 to 1971.
A hot mix with the sensual beauty
of Marilyn Monroe and pizzaz of Mike Hammer,
Honey West was also TV's first female lead in an
action series appearing on ABC in 1965 starring
beautiful Anne Francis as Honey.
"We are pleased that Gloria Fickling,
co-creator with her late husband Forrest E. 'Skip'
Fickling, will be signing books from 4 to 7 p.m. and
actress/model Hollis McLachlan will also be on hand
to celebrate the new venue AND the arrival of Honey
West into the comic book landscape", said Moonstone
publisher, Joe Gentile.
"It is particularly fitting since Ms. Fickling has a long
history in the annals of Laguna Beach. Fans will be pleased with
the new series and we are proud to offer something so special at
this time."
A ribbon cutting will
preface the Laguna Beach event from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday. The
Santa Monica venue will be hosting a similar celebration the
following Sunday, August 29th at 525 Santa Monica Blvd. in Santa
Monica, California.
