Laguna Beach woman Allegedly abandoned her two infants to partyBy Michael Webster
Laguna Beach police reports a crying 3-year-old girl led them to her filthy home and her 8-month old abandoned sister around midnight early Saturday, after a passerby reported the child walking alone and crying out for her mother on Laguna Canyon Road. Leva Wilkinson, 33, of Laguna Beach, was arrested and charged with child abuse and endangerment by Laguna Beach police when she was found at the White House bar and restaurant in downtown. Authorities said she had left her two children – including an 8-month old infant – alone at home. Wilkinson remains in jail with bail set at $100,000. "The conditions of her residence were pretty bad, and the officers learned that this is not the first time people have found the child wandering along Laguna Canyon Road," said Sgt. Jason Kravetz. The children were taken to Orangewood Children's Home, Kravetz said. Wilkinson has since pleaded not guilty to two felony charges of child abuse and endangerment, according to court documents.
