MENDOCINO CALIFORNIA

Wine being aged in Mendocino Redwood kegs

There is more Mendocino than just a romantic weekend.  Sure we're known for our upscale bed and breakfasts and fine dinning, and wines, but with our year-round events, live theater performances, and popular music venues we have something for just about everyone.

Getting there is half the fun: Mendocino is a three hour drive to the north from San Francisco, depending on traffic. Take Highway 101 to Cloverdale. Then pick up Highway 128 through the Navarro Redwoods to the coast on hwy 1proceed northwest.

Mendocino and Lake Counties possess a natural beauty and rugged splendor that creates a feeling of freedom in the visitor. The Mendocino coastline is truly a sight to behold and the small towns create an atmosphere of simpler times. The lovely lakes and rural scenery of Lake County encourage an abundance of outdoor activities. The Anderson Valley, Redwood Valley, Potter Valley, Hopland area as well as Middletown offer the guest a chance to discover a profusion of wineries in the area. A visitor is never at a loss for something to do with the many events, festivals, fine dining establishments, antique shopping, art galleries, fishing, water sports and much more in the relaxing Mendocino and Lake Counties.

It's Dungeness Crab Season on the Mendocino Coast!

We here at Pacific Star hope you had a great holiday. Over the coming year we will let you know what events will be happening here at the winery and the coast. Our first event is our annual crab feed in January. This year we have made space available for those of you who are not Wine Club members. We cook live Dungeness crab in our crab pots here at the winery and serve a variety of side dishes, along with all of our wines. This year we've added something special / we are receiving a special shipment of Alaskan King crab to pair with our Dungeness; sort of a crab contest. The date is January 26; from 12 to 5. Cost is $70 for non-members. This is a reservation only event. You must call us @ 707 / 962-9463 or email us / pacstar@mcn.org.

Our crab feed coincides with the County's Crab, Wine and Mushrooms Festival. For this and future events, visit our County web site @ www.gomendo.com  .

We have more events scheduled at the winery: Greek Feast in May, Salmon Feed in August and Abalone Fiesta in October. For info about our winery and our events, click on our logo at the top and you will be directed to our web site. We hope you have a wonderful New Year!
