A superbly significant new Art Colony destination, Rohrer Fine Art is an extraordinary two story building recently constructed on a long vacant lot nestled between myriad galleries along north Laguna's famed Gallery Row. Launched in September, 2006,. the handsomely sprawling venue boasts a crackling outdoor firepit and is dominated inside the lower level by a gigantic antique Buddha. The ancient statue epitomizes Rohrer's magnificent global spectrum of pre-Columbian, Asian, and African art and antiquities. In stark contrast to these are original works of historic masters and contemporary artists as well as fine jewelry. Equally unique are elegant Oriental framed silk embroideries, delicate tapestries, handwoven baskets, tribal masks, sculptures, scrolls and screens dating back 2,000 years. While the second floor provides two working/living spaces for visiting artists, a showcase for each work is achieved on both levels by means of dramatically spacious positioning.
