SIN NO MORE CO-AUTHOR AND LOCAL RESIDENT JOHN DOMBRINK WILL JOIN LAGUNA

BEACH BOOKS IN A PROVOCATIVE DISCUSSION OF HIS NEW BOOK ON SAT NOV. 10TH AT 5:00

 

    

     John  Dombrink, Professor of Criminology, Law & Society at UC Irvine  will be

 

coming to Laguna Beach Books, Saturday, Nov. 10th at 5:00 to examine some of the most

 

morally and politically disputed issues of our time.

 

     In his newly released book, Sin No More: “From Abortion to Stem Cells,

 

Understanding Crime, Law, and Morality In America”, Professor Dombrink seeks to

 

show what laws and attitudes tell us about Americans approach to law and morality, and

 

our changing conceptions of sin, crime and illegality.

 

     Sin No More offers a vivid examination of some of the more morally and politically

 

disputed issues of out time: abortion, gay rights, assisted suicide, stem cell research,

 

and legalized gambling.  Dombrink and his co-author, Daniel Hillyard, cover these

 

 issues in depth, looking at the nature of efforts to initiate reforms.

 

     The topics being discussed  will have an impact  on everyone struggling with these

 

moral questions.
