Our highly respected system of Diamond rating is considered one of the best in the country by the lodging and hospitality industry. In order to meet our essential requirements based on guest expectations — cleanliness, comfort, security, and safety.
Our Five Diamond Rating:
Properties that are approved are assigned a rating of one to five Diamonds. One Diamond rating is property that is simple, clean and with amenities. A five Diamond rating is a property which is a luxurious world class resort hotel with spa.
The Diamond ratings indicate the extensiveness of services, amenities, and décor provided.
The Travel Review Journal editors, reporters and guest editors write the reviews and together determine the rating given to each participant property.

The Travel Review Journal raises the bar for restaurants to meet our high standards. Our highly respected system of Gold Star rating is considered one of the best in the country by restaurateurs and patrons.
Our Gold
Star Restaurant Rating System:

One through five star rating is given in each category food, service and ambiance. The lowest star rating in any category will bring down the overall rating of the restaurant. The highest rating is five stars in all categories which gives the over all rating of five stars.
The quality and depth of the wine list is also taken into consideration in our rating system. The Travel Review Journal editors and reporters write the Journal Restaurant reviews and together determine the Gold Star rating given to each participant.
One star
meaning the place should be closed down for health reasons.
Two star meaning
poor all around, food, service and ambiance.
Three star meaning
good food, service and ambiance
Four Star Meaning
excellent food, service and ambiance
Five star Meaning
world class dining the best of food, service and ambiance
with great wine offerings.

The Travel Review Journal together with the International Eco-Spa Council raises the bar for spas. In order to meet our high standards our highly respected system of Diamond rating is considered one of the best in the country by the spa operators and their clients. In order to meet our essential requirements based on guest expectations — cleanliness, comfort, we compile, monitor and publish a directory for ecologically sensitive spa operators with ranking system that rewards those who make extra-ordinary efforts at conservation.
Our Five Diamond Rating:
The Eco Spa Council determines the certification of the spa. The Travel Review Journal editors and reporters write the Travel Review Journal reviews and together with the Eco Spa Council determine the diamond rating given to each spa.
Eco-Spa Council mission statement: "To compile, monitor and publish a directory for ecologically sensitive spa operators with a ranking system that rewards those who make extra-ordinary efforts at conservation."
