Woman fatally shot by OC law enforcement

LA HABRA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a woman in Orange County has been shot and killed by law enforcement officers after she confronted them with a weapon.

The District Attorney's Office said Tuesday in a written statement that La Habra Police and Orange County Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call Monday night with a report of a possibly suicidal woman.

The statement says that minutes later the woman confronted officers with a weapon and she was shot.

The District Attorney's Office is investigating the incident.

Authorities would not say whether police officers or deputies fired the fatal shots or how many bullets were fired.

The woman's name and details about her identity have not been released.
