WORLD AIDS DAY IN LAGUNA BEACH

The Laguna Beach HIV Advisory Committee will display duplicates of local panels from the AIDS quilt at Thurston Middle School on Friday. Nov. 30. Committee members will on hand to answer questions from the students.

According to committee member Peggy Webster "The panels will be on display at Main Beach on Saturday, Dec. 1, where AIDS ribbon stakes will commemorate more than 200 locals who were lost to the worldwide pandemic. The Laguna Beach Community Clinic will be on hand from 1-4 p.m. to give free HIV tests and counseling. Shanti OC, AIDS Service Foundation OC, AIDS Care Teams In Our Neighborhoods, Laguna High School students and Laguna Drug will also be on hand to answer any questions. A candlelight vigil and a calling of the names of those lost to AIDS will begin at 5 p.m.
